Waldorf Astoria
Chicago
Chicago-based design firm KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group has recently completed a redesign of Waldorf Astoria Chicago, updating their original design from 2009. The revamp includes fully updated guest rooms, as well as the Presidential Suite and the lavishly appointed Astoria Suite. In addition, the firm enhanced the hotel’s lobby, spa, as well as the new, lobby-level Peacock Lounge and the beloved Bernard’s bar, a sophisticated, intimate craft cocktail and champagne bar. The luxury, Gold Coast property is adorned with design elements befitting the sumptuous accomodations, such as the lobby’s glittering Swarovski crystal chandelier, inspired by a vintage brooch, as well as the black-and-white-pinstriped stone that trims the herringbone-wood entryways of the palatial hotel suites. The Peacock Lounge’s real feathered wall panels and Impressionist art is inspired by Chicago businesswoman and socialite Bertha Palmer’s grand, Gilded Age home. The hotel is a stone’s throw from Oak and State Streets for the best in shopping, and Rush Street, known for it’s nightlife. waldorfastoriachicagohotel.com
